West Point House has 37 bedrooms sleeping 50 people. Situated beyond the Furness Peninsula’s South West coast - Walney Island is an area of outstanding natural beauty in its own right, & only a thirty-minute journey by road or rail into the Lake District National Park – one of Cumbria's UNESCO World Heritage Sites

West Point House offers all its residents’ real comfort and absolute quality. The rooms are pristine, with high thread count bed linen & towels are provided. The lounge is comfortable furnished with a tasteful, modern eye – no swirly carpets here! The kitchen is always available to all, superbly equipped. There is a lovely, spacious walled garden with both dining & lounging furniture – light up the BBQ & have a great evening, relaxing in peace with your nearest & dearest. Children are welcome, parents can rest easy as they play outside. We welcome dogs & our garden suntrap also offers plenty of opportunities for games, adventures, and even a spot of den-building

Chill out on the beach, spend time exploring rock pools, wear the youngsters out with fell walks, enjoy cobweb blowing welly walks & beach combing all on our doorstep! We look forward to welcoming you

So much nature to see
Walney Island is a regular on BBC1’s Countryfile!

The island has two nature reserves - home to an abundance of wildlife; a grey seal colony, ducks, gulls, oystercatchers, & plover aplenty, & owls & falcons!

The recently opened Walney Coast Path, offers 21miles of beauty to ramble along. There are fabulous cycle routes including Morecambe Bay Cycleway, & our very own links golf course with stunning views at every turn

Piel Island with its King (yes, really!), castle & pub, & don’t forget the Dock Museum celebrating Barrow’s world-famous shipbuilding heritage. Further inland explore the twelfth century Furness Abbey

Just beyond Barrow is the South Lakes Safari Zoo, & then check out the stunning coast road to Stan Laurel’s birthplace; Ulverston – taking in Birkrigg Common along the way, enjoy the stone circle & simply stunning views across Morecambe Bay - described by travel writer Bill Bryson as one of the most beautiful places on earth

And finally – how can we forget… Barrow-in-Furness offers a variety of shops – from high street names to quirky independents, including the Last Resort Café (featured in JK Rowling’s Career of Evil)
