Originally a farmer's cottage, now extended to be a comfortable countryside retreat, Rough Top is full of original features and character, providing you with a relaxing environment for your holiday. Rough Top is on the moorlands above Hebden Bridge near the Yorkshire border with Lancashire, a tranquil but easily accessible spot.At around 1300 feet above sea level you can be assured of some stunning views!
Ideal for those wanting to get away from it all, Rough Top is situated in a quiet hilltop area with stunning views, plenty of walks and cycle routes for all abilities. You will be within easy walking distance of Bridestone's Rocks, a popular haunt for climbers and scramblers. We are close to the Pennine Way + Pennine Bridleway so lots of walking to choose from. Once you've explored our local surroundings, you can return and relax in front of a roaring, log fire.
We welcome well behaved dogs and even provide dog bowls should you forget your own but please bring your dogs own bed/crate! Please confirm this with the owner.
The welcoming farmhouse kitchen is equipped with all kitchen implements and utensils, with the large table able to easily seat 8, handy if you've got friends or family locally to invite over. Your every need is supplied with lovely crockery and cutlery and when you've finished eating pop it all in the dishwasher!
Your bedrooms are in keeping with the farmhouse style, with pine beds and brilliant views on tap! You will have one double and one twin room upstairs with a shower room and a single bedroom downstairs, also with a neighbouring shower room - handy if one of your party isn't so keen on the stairs, or wants to be alone!
If you're interested in venturing off the hillside, Rough Top is situated on the Yorkshire/Lancashire Border, above Hebden Bridge and a short drive away from Haworth, the home of the Bronte sisters. To the west is Lancashire and Burnley is the nearest town with all the great shops you might need. You are also a 28 minute train ride from Manchester city centre as well as being easy distance for a day out in Leeds, Harrogate or Blackpool.
Fancy a meal out? You will be spoiled for choice as we have just about every type of restaurant and take away you could possibly want. Ask your hosts for recommended eateries and takeaways- some will deliver.
Looking for things to do on your stay? There is a golf course less than 2 miles away and Horse riding stables nearby, not to mention endless walks just filled with stunning scenery that you and your family and dog will just love.
