Tree fall cleared

23rd July 2018

This extra hot weather has been taking a toll on some of the trees around the area, so we are very grateful of the effort put in by the volunteer wardens to keep the Cotswold Way clear for everyone to enjoy.

On 12th July one of our Volunteer Coordinators received reports of a very large tree fallen and blocking they path at the top of Laverton Bank, horses could not get through and walkers would have to climb over.   Jean, the voluntary warden who looks after that section went out the next day to find 3 large branches from one of the magnificent beeches here had come down across the path, and with help from a couple of friends the pathway was cleared that same day.

The photo shows the results of their efforts with the trail now clear of the fallen branches.
