Quagmire no more!

15th July 2015

Anyone who has walked the Cotswold Way near Winchcombe over the last year or so will be more than familiar with a particularly muddy and waterlogged gateway below Belas Knap. Water cascading down the hill congregated around a kissing gate making it all but impassable to walkers. But thanks to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of our volunteers, the Cotswold Wardens, and the cooperation of the landowner, a cheap and effective solution was found by simply moving the gate a little further up the slope.

Just another example of how the Wardens keep the Cotswold Way in tip top condition!

(Thanks to Warden Mick Clark for the before and after photos)
