The Cotswold Wardens go from strength to strength!

29th April 2015

The Cotswold Voluntary Wardens recently completed a job to improve the Cotswold Way near Haresfield Beacon.

The hillside path had been crumbing away, leaving a real hazard to walkers. The Wardens stepped in and carried out one of the biggest jobs they have taken on in their 42 year history to solve the problem, installing a new surface and handrail along the damaged stretch.

This is an example nationally of how our volunteers can identify a job, draw up a specification and materials list, and complete the works in good time to an exceptional standard with little or no outside support.

Thanks to the Central District Wardens, walkers will now be able to enjoy the Cotswold Way safely for many more years to come.

The top two images are of the completed path, the bottom one was taken before the works started.
