A series of new artworks can now be seen along the Yorkshire Wolds Way as part of the project WANDER - art along the Yorkshire Wolds Way. This project - commisssioned by VHEY (Visit Hull and East Yorkshire) includes 6 sculpted benches by artist and furniture maker Angus Ross. The flowing nature of the steamed oak benches reflect the Wolds and the springs along the route. Each bench is enhanced by poetry by John Clarke. Also complete is the work by Jony Easterby entitled Enclosure Rites, which can be seen at Knapton Brow. This work involved

the recreation of a dew pond and the establishment of a wildflower meadow, overlooking the Vale of Pickering. The artist worked with local archaeologists to create a work that reflected the rich cultural heritage of the area. There is more to come! The spiral is in creation near Thixendale and a walkers shelter at Fridaythorpe are the next exciting projects to look out for.
