Walking & Outdoors Festival - Exploring the hidden dry valleys around Fridaythorpe

until Thu 18 Sep 2014

Walking event

Almost anyone who visits the Yorkshire Wolds for the first time is stunned by the astonishing beauty of the Dry Valleys and their "rivers of green". This 7 mile walk is one of the Top Ten Highlights of the Yorkshire Wolds Way.  There to guide you along it is our National Trail Officer, Malcolm.  We will explore the hidden dry Valleys around Fridaythorpe, part of the stunning landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds. On our journey we will also see two of the stunning artworks from the WANDER Programme, including "Waves and Time" an incredible earthwork spiral set within a secretive meeting place of dry valleys.

We expect the walk to take about 4 1/2 hours. You will need your packed lunch.

We meet at the Wayrham Picnic site at 10.am. Postcode for sat nav is YO42 1TA and Grid Reference SE 834 567
