Trail Officer's favourite part: The long stretch from Clywedog reservoir to Glaslyn. It takes you from the lovely green rolling hills around the reservoir up onto wide, bleak moorland landscape. It is all utterly peaceful.
Nearest Towns: Knighton, Llanidloes, Machynlleth and Welshpool are on the Trail.
Access: Both ends of the Trail and Machynlleth can be reached by train from Shrewsbury. London Euston to Shrewsbury is 3 hours. Birmingham to Shrewsbury is 1 hour. Shrewsbury is 50 minutes from Knighton, 1 hour from Machynlleth and 20 minutes from Welshpool.
