The Thames Path is exceptionally well served by public transport which makes it possible to explore the Trail without needing a car by using trains, buses or, unusually for a National Trail, boats.

Please visit our travel planner which shows bus routes, train routes, boat services and car parks outside London, with links to relevant timetables and information. This is a new part of our website and we would really like to hear your views of it - please email comments to the National Trails Office.  Please note the travel planner will be updated twice a year so it is always wise to check your bus journeys with the operator before travelling.

Alternatively information about travel and parking can be accessed at the following web sites or telephone numbers:

  • Trains or 08457 484950
  • Traveline or 0870 6082608 for information about buses, coaches and trains.  You will need to visit pages for the South West, South East and London to get full coverage of the Thames Path.
