National Trail Volunteers win Prestigious Award

2nd May 2014

The National Trail Volunteers were awarded the River Thames Society Shield for 2013 at the Society’s AGM at The River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames on Saturday 26th April.

The Shield is presented annually by the Society to an individual or organisation making the most significant contribution to the well-being of the River Thames during the previous calendar year and was first made in 1994.  In presenting the award to the Volunteers the Society wanted to recognise the commitment of the volunteers and their work which helps to ensure the safety and accessibility of the Thames Path.

Previous winners of this award have included the Thames Jubilee Pageant in 2012 and the RNLI Thames Stations in 2011.
