Travelling the whole length of the South Downs Way is a challenge no matter what mode of transport you choose, but on horseback is probably the most challenging method of all. But, for a confident horse and rider, hacking the South Downs Way can be a brilliant experience.

The South Downs Way is open to horse and rider for the full 100 miles from Eastbourne to Winchester. Pleas be aware that there are short sections where footpath and bridleway routes are separate, horse riders must stick to the bridleway.
