Additional information

Chalk grassland full of flowers and butterflies in spring and summer. Beech, Juniper and yew woodland. Bramshott bottom, the dry valley just west of Beacon Hill, is probably the most dramatic example of an dry valley in W Sussex, carved out by Ice Age melt waters. The hill fort around Beacon Hill has been damaged, but the Cross Dykes - thought to be boundary markers - on Pen Hill are still very clearly visible.
