Description

This famous clump of beech trees was blown down in the Great Storm of 1987. The replanted saplings are now beginning to look like a tree clump again.

Additional information

The clump is planted over an Iron Age hill fort. In the centre of the fort (and the clump) the remains of a Roman temple were found.
