These now beautiful mining landscapes are testimony to one of the greatest periods of economic, technological and social development Britain has ever known.

The impact that the technology developed here has had throughout the world has been recognised by Unesco by granting it World Heritage Site status. Today it is peaceful, but you can discover how hard it was for the tin miners who tunneled under the sea by going underground at Geevor or visiting one of the other museums.

Visit the Cornish Mining World Heritage website to learn more, find activities and places to visit, discover what's on and get the latest news.
