Tring

Tring is a small market town in Hertfordshire. The town straddles the Roman road called Akeman Street, which runs through it as the High Street. Start your day browsing Tring High Street with its traditional and specialist shops. The Information Centre on Akeman Street is a good place to find information about the town and surrounding area.

From the High Street it’s only a short walk to the Natural History Museum where you can spend the morning discovering the fascinating animals collected by Lionel Walter Rothschild. With six galleries, an interactive Discovery Room, cafe and shop it's a great place for families.

From the Museum take the signposted route from Park Street to Tring Park to explore this historic park and woodland which is believed to date back to 1066. Head east on the Icknield Way Trail to join the Ridgeway National Trail in Wigginton. You can then choose to follow the Ridgeway along to its start/end point at Ivinghoe Beacon where you’ll get wonderful views of the surrounding countryside or head along the towpath on the Grand Union Canal Walk
