Tintwistle - Moor Fun by Bike

Fancy a new challenge?  Then why not "Try a Trail" and have a go at this 16 mile (26km) mountain bike ride starting from Hadfield or Tintwistle in Derbyshire.  For a map and route guide, download the pdf below.

The route follows the Pennine Bridleway over Swineshaw Moor, loops around Mosseley then returns over the moor to Tintwistle, with places to eat and drink at either end.  It is suitable for intermediate level riders with some short advanced descents in places.  However, it can be shortened to an 8 mile, one way, ride by taking the train to Hadfield, following the Trail to Greenfield and then returning home on the train from Greenfield.  A super day out from Manchester!

This map uses public bridleways which are also popular with horse riders and walkers and you must ride responsibly. When using the Trail by bike, please remember to give way to people on foot and horseback and when passing reduce your speed and warn people of your approach.
