Christmas on the Peddars Way & Norfolk Coast Path

18th December 2013

What an interesting few weeks!

I know I enjoy my time on the route above all else, however I’ve spent everyday for the past two weeks on the Norfolk Coast Path checking on our signage, infrastructure, making sure diversions are sensible and easy to follow and prioritising repairs.

There is no doubt a lot has been damaged, not just to the path which will be repaired, but to people’s homes and lives; the incredible work of the Environment Agency, local district councils, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and other agencies can not be ignored. The 'can do' attitude of local businesses and organisations has been really incredible. It is quite amazing to think of those first pictures of Cromer pier with its boards broken and for the end of the pier show now to be back on in all its glory!

There are a handful of diversions in place along the Norfolk Coast Path (see the map pages and click diversions) but it is open for business as usual as are the many pubs/restaurants and shops just waiting for your visit over Christmas and the New Year!
