Northumberland National Park is a special place, providing you with opportunities to experience tranquillity within a beautiful landscape setting, rich in wildlife and cultural heritage. Northumberland National Park Authority has a duty to promote the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of Northumberland National Park, and any recreational activities undertaken should be those that rely on these qualities and do nothing to damage them.
In this area, lying as it does within Northumberland National Park, you’ll find the most meticulously preserved roman remains and possibly the most dramatic upland scenery to be found anywhere in Hadrian’s Wall Country.
Running close and parallel to the monument is the B6318 Military Road. For small groups or individuals undertaking a charity walk, we would recommend that they use the Hadrian’s Wall Bus, when it is in service, to access the Trail at various sites along the Wall.
