Hadrian’s Cycleway is a 170 mile long distance Coast to Coast cycle route (Route 72) being developed by Sustrans in partnership with Cumbria and Northumberland County Councils, Newcastle City Council and North Tyneside MBC and was officially opened in July 2006 between Silloth & South Shields / Tynemouth. The section between Ravenglass and Silloth
will be opened once work is completed.
