After a very wet summer, there are a few sections of the Cotswold Way that remain waterlogged and very muddy. We are working as quickly as we can to rectify these problems, but for the time being expect to get vey muddy boots around a few gates and pinch-points. Examples of where this is the worst are a couple of locations around Winchcombe.
Also, due to recent high winds, there are a number of fallen trees either overhanging or blocking the path. Again, we are working through these problems on a case-by-case basis, but in the meantime please take care when negotiating a way round obstructions, considering adjacent landowners and bearing in mind the Countryside Code. Please also exercise extreme caution when walking under 'hung' trees; this is particularly a problem in the vicinity of Wooton-Under-Edge where we are currently trying to find a solution to this particularly tricky problem.
