Information for Disabled Visitors

National Trails set very high standards of footpath surfacing and use gates in place of stiles wherever possible. Several sections of the Cotswold Way therefore, are more than suitable for wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties.

One of the aims of the Cotswold Way team is to make the trail accessible to as wide a range of visitors as possible, and intends to promote certain lengths and access points which may provide disabled visitors with suitable access to the countryside.

Please contact the National Trail office for further information or to offer your suggestions.

Tramper Hire - Off Road Access to the Cotswold Way: A new kind of access is now available at Crickley Hill Country Park. People with limited mobility can now reach more areas of the countryside and enjoy the beauty of the Cotswold Way National Trail thanks to a new off-road mobility scooter avilable to hire from the visitors' Centre. Call 01452 863170 or email countryparks@gloucestershire.gov.uk to book your adventure. Click here for more information...

'Walks On Wheels':  The Cotswolds Conservation Board, our host body, has recently joined forces with the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens to develop the 'Walks on Wheels' guides, a folder of 15 routes designed for families with pushchairs and people in wheelchairs and powered scooters. The routes are no more than 4 km in length and vary from challenging terrain at Tetbury to easier routes at Hinchwick and Badminton, several taking in parts of the Cotswold Way. Click here for downloadable copies of each route. Organised mother and toddler, disability and walking groups are also encouraged to contact the Cotswolds Conservation Board and request a free hard-copy of the walks pack (please note: supplies are limited).
