FAQs

  • How long is the Cotswold Way?
    102 miles (164 km).
  • How do I organise a record attempt for the Cotswold Way, and how can I get my time verified?

You will need support runners for the length of the route and / or a support vehicle. Get to know the route thoroughly, and practice running at night (basically recreate running the route in 24 hrs). Also, make sure you know exactly where the official start and finish of the Cotswold Way are.

To make an official attempt on the record,  you should have a County registered time keeper at the start and finish (all running clubs should have one or know of one). You should also have somebody with you every step of the way to prove that you have covered the distance; get them to sign a document to say where they ran from and who they are.

Look at what food and drink you will need to keep your energy levels up, and take something to calm your stomach. Whatever you're used to, but I found later in the run liquid food worked well eg rice pudding, chocolate milkshake, custard etc. With your drinking, remember if you are peeing regularly you should be hydrated, and if you're not then you're not drinking enough.
