High on the cliff top near Saltburn can be found the remains of half a Roman signal station dating from the 4th century. In June 1993 one of Scarborough’s premier hotels, the Holbeck Hall, collapsed in a huge coastal landslip. All evidence enough that this is an eroding coastline! For more details click here.
