Holbeck Landslip
When one of the principal hotels in Scarborough slid down into the sea in a matter of hours one day in June 1993, the world press beat a path to its lost front door! Breakfast was in progress in the elegant dining room of the Holbeck Hall Hotel situated on the cliffs to the south of the town when it became apparent that the doors were jamming and the cutlery was rattling. It was time to leave, and quickly!
