Boulby Potash - Down the Mine!At over 1400 metres Cleveland Potash mine is one of the deepest (perhaps the deepest!) in Europe. Salts from a long-gone desert sea formed thick deposits tens of millions of years ago that are now buried under a vast thickness of younger rocks in the North York Moors.
