Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook

Grab your chance to ‘bag’ two iconic features of the Cleveland Way! After breakfast in Great Ayton – a pretty village perched on the banks of the River Leven, burn off those calories by walking to the summit of Roseberry Topping. The views are well worth the effort and you’ll get a spectacular 360° panorama of the surrounding countryside.

Once you’ve got your breath back visit Captain Cook’s Monument on Easby Moor. The monument was erected in 1827 to honour Captain James Cook, one of the world’s most famous explorers who was born in Yorkshire in 1728.

Finish off your day with an ice cream at Suggitt’s Ices in Great Ayton.
