Due to the unusually heavy rainfall throughout several months, various sections of the Thames Path have been under floodwater. In places, the path may still be under water, or thick with mud. These areas are mainly - but not wholly - around the upper reaches of the Thames towards the source. We rely on the reports of our monitors and walkers along the route for details of recent flooding. If you encounter any flooding on the Thames Path please let us know. Please be aware that the surface condition may have deteriorated due to flooding and you are advised not to attempt to walk through flood water as the bank edge may not be visible.

Surface condition of the Trail due to continuing heavy rainfall

Where possible, action to restore or to lessen the impact of flooding has taken place - in partnership with the Environment Agency, local highway authorities and local landowners.  However, as weather changes on a daily basis we are unfortunately unable to give an up to date report on the condition along the whole 187 miles length.
