We must advise caution to all horse riders riding the Trail on Annington Hill, Bramber, approximately 1 mile west of the River Adur, due to pigs in the fields next to the bridleway.
Horses tend to be spooked by pigs and there have been a couple of incidents of unwary riders being thrown from their horses at the sight of the pigs.
The pigs are not on the Trail and have been fenced back about 10 metres from either side of the path. However, they are still clearly visible for both horse and rider.
While we are aware of the problem caused to horse riders, there is unfortunately nothing we can do apart from recommend dismounting the horse when passing next to the pig fields.
