There is a small car park at the start of the Peddars Way National Trail. It is not advisable to leave a car parked here overnight.
A few hundred metres away is the car park of Knettishall Heath Country Park, which is a hub of long distance trails. The Peddars Way, Icknield Way (the 128 mile route to Ivinghoe Beacon that links with the Ridgeway National Trail), Angles Way (a 77 mile route to Gt. Yarmouth) and the Iceni Way (80 mile route to Hunstanton via Brandon and the Fens) all meet at the park. Knettishall Heath itself is a site of scientific interest. Information office opens Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays for pre-arranged visits. To contact the park ranger call: 01953 688265.
