The importance of volunteering

Volunteers play a very important role in National Trails all over the UK, not just in Norfolk and Suffolk. Other National Trails such as The Ridgeway, Hadrian's Wall and The Cotswold Way all have volunteer forces that help to maintain their National Trail to an extremely high standard.

Volunteers on Norfolk Coast Path

All you need is enthusiasm

To be a volunteer you do not need any qualifications or experience in countryside management, all you need is enthusiasm, some free time and an enjoyment of the great outdoors. Even if you have never done anything like this before it doesn't matter. Everyone is welcome.

As a volunteer you will be supported by Patrick Saunders, our Works Coordination Officer. Patrick will be able to answer any queries you may have. He can be contacted at the National Trail office.
