Llanymynech
The structural remains of the lime industry at Llanymynech make this a site of national importance. In amongst the rocks there are the fossilised remains of tiny sea creatures.
Overlooking the town there is a major prehistoric hillfort which dates back to the Iron Age.
The impressive cliff faces can be seen from miles around, on top of which lies a golf course with equally impressive views.
Did you know? The initial limestone rock blasting was so massive it damaged many houses in the village.
