Walkers enjoy 40th Anniversary Special Offa

Walkers enjoy an unexpected surprise on the latest Powys Trail Tempters guided walk, '40th Anniversary Special Offa' . The walk lead by Rob Dingle, Offa's Dyke Path National Trail Officer and assisted by Kevin Straw of Powys countryside Service, took in an iconic stretch of the Trail south of Knighton. Walkers were taken to Pen Offa by mini bus and then returned the seven miles along the National Trail to Knighton. The weather was not brilliant, but the group still enjoyed good views of the stunning Powys borders countryside. At the half way point on Hawthorn Hill, celebration cake and Bucksfizz were waiting for them, that had been brought in from the opposite direction by Rob's wife Liz and daughters Non and Meg. The surprise went down really well with the group of walkers and was a really good way to help celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Offa's Dyke Path.
