The Offa's Dyke Path is to feature on BBC Countryfile presented by Julia Bradbury on Sunday 29th May.

THE PROGRAMME IS DUE TO BE SCREENED ON  SUNDAY 29TH MAY AT 7.00PM 

BBC Countryfile with presenter Julia Bradbury have been filming along the Offa's Dyke Path and monument for a forthcoming programme. One of the sections featured will be around Kington, where they were involved in filming a recce for a ramble with the Disabled Ramblers Association on Hergest Ridge. They meet the chairman of the Disabled Ramblers association Robin Helby as well as other members and a local group of ramblers from Herefordshire.

The filming took in a number of sections of the ramble which is taking place on tuesday 7th June, where Julia Bradbury chatted and interveiwed the group. The filming finished at the Whet Stone where she interveiwed the National Trail Officer.

After finishing filming this section, Robin Helby got Julia to have a go on his Tramper.

In the afternoon the filming moved to the otherside of Kington onto the monument itself at Rushock Hill, where she met and interveiwed  archaeologist Ian Bapty. Ian was able to tell Julia all about King Offa himself and the Offa's Dyke monument with a stunning backdrop of the monument itself and surrounding countryside.

At the end of the days filming there was one other surprise guest who made an apperance on the Offa's Dyke Path at Rushock Hill.

Pudsey was here to collect a cheque from the sales of last years Countryfile calendar for Children in Need.

Another days filming then took place on a northern section of the Trail and monument around Chirk Castle, where Julia Bradbury meet the Tree Hunter, Rob McBride.
