Although extensively restored in 1861 St John s displays a wide range of architectural styles from its long history including the north arcade of about 1160 and the south door which is a bit younger - 1170!Later features include the 15th Century tower with its brickwork repairs and the chapel in the chancel, which was partly rebuilt in brick in 1770.In the floor of the chancel is a brasss depicting a former rector, Edward Cranford, dating from about 1430.
