Kings Wood is a working forest of sweet chestnut, beech, fir and pine. Managed by the Forestry Commission it covers 400 hectares with half a million specially planted trees. The Stour Valley Art Project has commissioned artists to produce a series of sculptures and works of art in wood. It is said that Henry VIII once hunted deer in Kings Wood.
