The Wey Navigation celebrates its 350th anniversary in 2003 and is the oldest canalised river in England. It was constructed to link the Thames with Guildford, which at the time was an importantfinancial and trading town. Gentle walks can be reached along the Wey Navigation from the centre of Guildford.
