Guildford Cathedral is an imposing landmark set in a commanding position on Stag Hill. Designed by Sir Edward Maufe, it was the first Anglican cathedral built on a new site in southern England since the Reformation. Construction started before World War II, was interrupted until 1952 and only consecrated finally in 1961.
