Facilities and additional information

A 87-room Palladian mansion built of Portland stone at Bridge near Canterbury, was totally restored by its enthusiastic owners after years of institutional neglect. Today you can visit the magnificently restored staterooms and 24 acres of parkland. Beautiful lost gardens have been reinstated including an Italian water garden and a rose-filled terrace. The house s most flamboyant inhabitant was the multi-millionaire and racing driver, Count Louis Zborowski. Here he built and drove the monster racing machine which Ian Fleming immortalised in his book, ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang .
