Rochester Cathedral is the second oldest in the country, founded in 604 by Bishop Justus. The present building was built by Bishop Gundulf in 1077 and features an altar built for Ithamar the first English Bishop. In the crypt (one of the finest in the country ) can be seen some graffiti thought to date from 1264.
