The North Downs Way National Trail's Steering Group has commissioned a survey of the National Trail to identify which parts of the National Trail, and nearby routes or rights of way, could be suitable for cycling access.
There is currently limited riding access along the trail, with around half of the 150+ miles being inaccessible to riders.
The survey by Sustrans will look at routes that are suitable for road bikes and/or mountain bikes, as well as bridleways or non surfaced permissive routes.
The study will produce recommendations on which parts of the Trail would be best enhanced to meet different audience needs in the future, so that we can improve access along the trail for a wider range of users.
