An essential land contamination survey will take place between 7th September and 11th October in the Walker area of Newcastle. Approximately two miles west of Segedunum, walkers will be diverted onto a higher level cycle route between the gasometer (near Church Street) in the east and St Anthony's Point in the west.
The diversion affects approximately half a mile of the Trail. Walkers will miss out on a section of Walker promenade but this is re-joined at St Anthony's Point. The diversion, a temporary Traffic Restriction Order, will be clearly signed throughout. Click here for diversion map.
