The wreck of the Rohilla close inshore near Whitby in 1914 gave rise to one of the most difficult and heroic rescue attempts ever to take place on the Yorkshire coast At the time all local lifeboats were rowing lifeboats making this rescue even more remarkable. For more details click here.
