Most people like to enjoy the superb moorland and coast of the Cleveland Way over a leisurely 9 days or so. Not so the Hardmoors 110 Ultrarunners who completed the route over all or part of the weekend of the 26th September.
The fastest time posted by Martin Dietrich was an incredible 24 hours and 19 minutes. The fastest lady was Shirley Colquhoun on 30 hours and 36 minutes. 26 brave competitiors started the race on the Friday at 5pm from Helmsley. 18 of the 26 managed to complete it. The event attracted runners from the United States and included a competitor who had taken part in 530 previous Ultraruns!
The weather itself was good, though the cold night and heat of the following day presented its own challenges.
Congratulations on organising the event go to Jon Steele and Martin Hall
